Ingredients:
3 T olive oil
4 cloves garlic, diced
1 large green pepper, diced
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb hot Italian sausage meat, crumbled
15 oz can tomato sauce
15 oz can whole tomatoes
15 oz can dark kidney beans, drained
15 oz can light kidney beans, drained
15 oz can shelled beans, drained
2 T ground cumin
4 T chili powder
1 t salt
˝ t black pepper
Shredded cheddar cheese

To prepare:
Sauté the garlic and the green pepper in the oil
until tender. Set aside.
Sauté ground beef and sausage until cooked through.
Drain and add to garlic and green pepper.
Combine remaining ingredients in large pot and
bring to a simmer.
Add garlic, green pepper, and meats and simmer
for 30 minutes.
Top with shredded cheese and serve.
Serving Ideas:
Just before serving, put portions into individual
oven-safe dishes. Cover with shredded cheese and broil for a few minutes
until the cheese is melted. Put each oven-safe dish on a serving plate
and serve.
Serve topped with a dollop of sour cream, with
fresh cornbread on the side.
Serve with cold beer.
